Thats true, Wayne Coyne and his buddies will be headlining the folky/trippy/mixed bag of oddballs festival known as Green Man. We went last year and it’s very good, a great atmosphere and tons of good food and things to do that don’t involve drinking carling and pissing on your mates leg. It’s kind of like a festival for the mid twenty who likes to read the Observer but still enjoys getting high and enjoying a pint of real ale.

It’s calm, sweet, and maybe not to everyones tastes, but if you’re a fan of Joanna Newsom, Alessi’s Ark and other softly sung folk loveliness- this is for you. Delicately produced to allow space for every hum and ding of the instruments to shine though, having only heard tracks 1130, Pale Town and Spin Wheel from her Myspace page I am very excited about her debut mini-album which is out on Jan 18th on Destructible.

It’s raining in London…big surprise. It’s also really cold and I have a sore throat. All of this sucks, but there is a bright side…well, maybe a dim side. It gives me an excuse to sit on my computer all day and look at all the random links that have been building up in my inbox.
So far, one of my favorites has to be this animated short: Dock Ellis and the LSD No-No. It’s the true story of an American baseball pitcher, Dock Ellis, who threw a no-hitter while high on LSD and Benzedrine. I heard this story over the summer while sitting in a bar in Venice Beach listening to a friend pitch his idea for a movie based on Dock’s life. Read the rest of this entry »
We got a little invite to a lovely exhibition by Danish Designer, Emil Kozak today, and it reminded me that his stuff is great. Emil Kozak is from a small town in Denmark, and was inspired to take on graphic design as a result of his life long passion for skateboarding.
