Sticks & Stones

Picture 50

All these nice things around at the minute I really dont know what to do with myself. If I’m not persistently waiting for the next update on ffffound.com then im drinking vast amounts of coffee, eating jelly beans and convincing myself that buying a Nintendo Wii was a productive idea. It’s not. I’m selling it. I also like this blog. Nice layout and it’s updated with stuff I like, so fuck you if you don’t like what I like.

Wondermental

cherrykino2

OO, experimental, wondermental films? Sounds exciting…

Check out the Cherry Kino line up at the Film Festival.

In the words of the organisers:

Cherry Kino is dedicated to curating and presenting ‘wondermental’ films – experimental films which fill you with, and make you, wonder. Despite the proliferation of mainstream cinema, wondermental films continue to be made – gorgeous, radical, poetic, challenging, political, artisanal and dreamlike films which are very hard to find being shown in the UK.

Watch out for these highlights too:

Canadian artist filmmaker Alex MacKenzie will hand crank his handmade film and hold a cine film Rayogram workshop, and finally, two medium length avant-garde films from the 1920s by Germaine Dulac – the first Surrealist film with the prototype for feminist cinema – with live music.

Yes, Yes it does.

Fighting is like smoking; although everyone knows it’s bad, it still looks kind of cool to knock a dude out cold. I’ve seen this happen a few times and it’s like watching a great movie like rocky where he does the street fight and Don King gets knocked out… Read the rest of this entry »

Blacklisters

Yeeeah, what did we write about Blacklisters again? that we really didn’t want them becoming another pulled apart by horses. Because they eat xbox’s for breakfast now and we never even interviewed them. Thats because our AWOL music editor plays drums for them and struggles with the concept of pointing a dictaphone at his own face. I said dictaphone… Read the rest of this entry »

Buke & Gass Interview

buke

In Issue 10 we interviewed relatively unknown brooklyn 2-some Buke & Gass. They are very good and are currently working on a new full length record which I’m sure will be beautiful, you should really check them out.

We usually prefer bands that have never ventured out of their country to tour, who operate via their own email and in general have fewer than 600 friends on myspace. Why you ask? Because they are at the point where everything’s so simple and care free. They are off the radar, like music fuck-wits say. We hate music terminology. We like Buke and Gass.
