Dead Ends

Theo just sent me the link to Dead Ends and it was the first thing I looked at this morning that made me take my mind off the fact that the weather is ridiculously hot and I’m in an office all day. Dead ends is a collaboration between Theo Simpson, Ben Mclaughlin and Tom Common. The series explores the issues of unemployment by collecting and documenting discarded job centre slips.

Cocorosie gig review

Cocorosie were as eccentric as you’d expect them to be, and a lot more. But what to expect? Harps, beatboxers, strange bellow instruments, opera… it was all there. They gave us a great performance, and although they didn’t give the audience much chat, there was plenty to look at with a strange looping video of horses, butterflies, waves and mountains forming a random and chaotical background to the equally strange show, with twists and turns where they were least expected. Joanna Newsom / Have one on me

‘During her short career, the exceptional Miss Newsom has already made some death-defying leaps of ambition. But to listeners who first meet her on Have One On Me, a record which leaves no trace of elbow grease behind, it won’t seem that way. The squeaky, awkward girl who sang about The Milk-Eyed Mender has gone. In her place is a golden-voiced woman who, like Aphrodite, seems to have sprung up from nowhere. Moebius is one half of the seminal electronica/ambient champs Cluster, ‘Tonspuren’ being his solo debut which was originally out in 1983. Beyond the Pole

My love of Alexander Skarsgard (Generation Kill, True Blood) is initially what attracted me to this film, but after reading the blurb on the ICA(Institute of Contemporary Arts) website, I sadly realized he’s only a minor character.
