
So as lovely as 2009 was, it’s time to move on. Another year brings another lot of hassles, struggles and financial hardship..but really, who cares. Yes, ok, maybe your accountant cares, but in the long run; it’s all character building stuff. The New Year for us brought another party, once again, Norman Collins rounded up his Sailor Girls and sent them into the cold harsh ghetto of Leeds to the Nation of Shopkeepers bar and let them loose with Sailor Jerry Rum.

Thats true, Wayne Coyne and his buddies will be headlining the folky/trippy/mixed bag of oddballs festival known as Green Man. We went last year and it’s very good, a great atmosphere and tons of good food and things to do that don’t involve drinking carling and pissing on your mates leg. It’s kind of like a festival for the mid twenty who likes to read the Observer but still enjoys getting high and enjoying a pint of real ale.

Halloween seems like forever ago I know, but that’s only because this horrible world wants you to start celebrating Christmas 10 months early every year so you end up getting lost in seasonal celebration. For halloween this year we inviting two sailor girls and a couple of boxes of the lovely Sailor Jerry rum. As before, It was gone in seconds but everyone had a great time even though the bar had to close in the day due to protests and riots.

November in Leeds is the time to get excited about films. From 4th – 22nd November there are literally hundreds of films showing at all your favourite, and not so favourite, venues around the city.

Warp Films and ATP have programmed a unique UK cinematic/live tour of ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES screening together with a live concert from Brooklyn based art-rockers Les Savy Fav plus a DJ set by ATP founder Barry Hogan.
